There is more music in TEAM WOODWIND books at every stage than in any other primer. Each of the five tutors contains carefully graded
material which may be followed along a number of alternative paths depending upon the interests of each individual pupil.
This is particularly evident with the Saxophone tutor which incorporates a blues and jazz course.
The musical content is widely varied, presented in a diversity of styles and caters for orchestral, wind band and jazz instruments.
Some musical concepts like 'rhythm' are isolated into grids as an aid to effective early learning.
TEAM WOODWIND contains all the scales and arpeggios required for examination up to grade 3 by the major Examination Boards.
The musical content of the five TEAM BRASS tutors is widely varied,
presented in a diversity of styles and caters for both brass band and orchestral instruments. Each tutor incorporates all the scales and
arpeggios required for examination up to Grade 3 by the major Examination Boards. Each book also contains two 'brass group warm ups'
which interlock harmonically and rhythmically with appropriate pages in all other TEAM BRASS books. Great emphasis has been placed on the
importance of providing adequate material appropriate for the very earliest learning situation and so all TEAM BRASS books contain at
least 18 pages (over 100 lines) of music which does not exceed the range 'B' below middle 'C' to second line 'G'
(and equivalent range in Bass Clef).
TEAM STRINGS has been designed to meet the needs of young string players everywhere, whether lessons are given individually,
in groups or in the classroom. Each book contains a wide variety of music styles from the Baroque and Classical eras to Christmas Carols,
Folk, Jazz and T.V. encourages ensemble playing and the TEAM STRINGS supplement integrates with the ensemble pages in
Team Brass/Woodwind/Recorder/Percussion. There are many opportunities to meet the requirements of the National Curriculum and GCSE
with references to composition and improvisation.
